The IAC will review each CA lodged and check that the requirements detailed above, particularly those in the section on ‘Contents’, are complied with. Essentially, the CA must comply with the Industrial Relations Act and other labour laws; comply with requirements for a legally binding document and IAC’s administrative requirements and be complete.
If these requirements are not met, IAC will inform the parties concerned, either in writing where there are few or simple changes, or at a meeting where there are many or less straightforward changes. The parties will be required to rectify the errors or omissions before the CA can be certified.
Note that the IAC does not vet CAs other than to ensure that there are no major errors or discrepancies and that the CA is in compliance with the provisions of the Industrial Relations Act.
